The short version
A quick summary — the sections below have the full detail, and they, not this summary, are what govern.
- You (the parent) own the account. Children don't sign up themselves.
- We collect what's needed to grade worksheets and keep your gradebook — nothing to advertise to your kids.
- Worksheet photos are processed to read and grade them. You can delete them.
- We don't sell your data or your children's work. Ever.
- You can view, correct, or delete your data, and close your account, whenever you want.
Who we are
Gradezi is operated by MMC Media LLC (“Gradezi,” “we,” “us”). If you have any question about this policy or your data, email privacy@gradezi.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your account: the email address you sign up with, and basic settings for your homeschool.
- Child profiles: a name or nickname you choose for each child and the grade or subjects you're tracking. You decide what to call each profile — a first name or a nickname is fine; we don't require any child's full identity.
- Worksheet photos: the pictures of schoolwork you take, and the answers and scores read from them.
Information collected automatically
- Basic device & usage data: app version, device type, and how the app is used, so we can fix problems and improve it.
Payments
Paid plans are handled through the App Store and our payment processor. We don't collect or store your full card number — the processor does that.
How we use it
- To read and grade the worksheets you photograph.
- To build and organize your gradebook and report cards.
- To operate, secure, support, and improve the service.
- To contact you about your account or important changes.
We do not use your family's data to serve advertising, and we don't show ads to your children in the app.
Children's privacy
Gradezi is designed to be held and controlled by a parent or guardian, not by a child. Accounts are for adults; we don't knowingly let children under 13 create their own accounts. Any information about a child in the app is entered and controlled by you, the parent, and you can view, edit, or delete it at any time. If you believe a child created an account without a parent, contact privacy@gradezi.com and we'll remove it.
Worksheet photos
When you photograph a worksheet, the image is sent to our service and to a vision-AI provider that reads the handwriting so it can be graded. We use those photos to grade the page and to keep the record in your gradebook — not for anything else. You can delete a photo, a score, or an entire child profile from the app, and you can delete your whole account. When you delete something, we remove it from active systems; routine backups are cleared on their normal cycle.
Who we share with
We are not in the business of selling data. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run Gradezi — for example cloud hosting and the vision-AI that reads worksheets — under agreements that limit them to working on our behalf.
- When the law requires it — for example a valid legal request — or to protect the safety and rights of people using Gradezi.
- In a business transfer — if Gradezi is ever sold or merged, data may transfer as part of that, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information or your children's work.
Your choices
- View and edit your account and child profiles in the app.
- Delete individual photos, scores, or entire profiles.
- Close your account, which removes your data as described above.
- Email privacy@gradezi.com to ask about the data we hold on you, or to request its deletion.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the sensitivity of children's schoolwork seriously and design around it.
Changes to this policy
As Gradezi grows, we may update this policy. If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Gradezi after a change means you accept the updated policy.
